BB Facebook voting in jeopardy as FB are to drop credits virtual currency

Facebook is set to drop its Credit virtual currency in favour of a local currency pricing.
This will effect shows such as Big Brother which are adopting the service as a use of voting to save housemates and choosing winners instead of calling to vote.
Currently 1 vote from Big Brother costs around 30p. Facebook has announced that all apps and games using the current credits platform will have to be sold in local currency by the end of the year. However will not start until “the next few months.”
This may effect Big Brother voting when another Celebrity Big Brother series is set to air days after this current Big Brother 2012 series.
After the switch, users will be able to convert their unused balances and gift cards to local currency balances.
Channel 5 started Facebook voting back in 2011 to enter the social media market.
The broadcaster is yet to comment on the situation and how it will deal with the change.
