Big Fat Gypsy Weddings: Paddy Doherty investigated over tax fraud!

It’s been reported that Paddy Doherty, star of Channel 4 documentary programme Big Fat Gypsy Weddings is currently being question over allegations of tax fraud!

The 53 year old traveller came to fame in February 2010 where he was shown in the original My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

The Inland Revenue Criminal Taxes Unit is said to be asking customers of Doherty’s how much they paid him. Acording to The Sun, media experts reckon that the married dad of 5 earned well over £100,000 last year after appearing and winning the first Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 and then following up with “When Paddy Met Sally” on the same broadcaster.

A Spokesperson for Paddy said: “Paddy’s accountant says there is no investigation.” However a spokesman for HMRC said: “We cannot comment on an individual case.”

It is believed that HMRC is investigating up to three years worth of inquires.
